Webkinz Distractions

Webkinz stuffed animalHi!  My name is Ducky.  I've been sitting patiently waiting for my friend Bonnie to get done with her real estate paperwork.  She works and works and works.  She sells real estate and when she goes away from our St. Paul office, I really think she's having a good time.  She always comes back in a good mood, but she also always has lots of work to do at her desk when she gets back.  I usually sit up here and just watch her.  All those papers and all those notes and all that computer work along with phone calls.  It makes me tired just watching.  Today is Friday, though, and some bloggers think Fridays are for fun.  Maybe I can get her to stop for the night. . . .

Yoo, hoo.  Oh, Bonnie.  Let's play.  Can't you take just a minute and log in and come play with me?  Just a few minutes.  I really am getting lonely in here.  Hey, remember me?  Put away those files.  Let's go play golf!

Okay.  Drastic times call for drastic measures.  Did you hear me!!!!!  It's time to stop for the night!  Helloooooooo!!!!     I'm not moving from this spot until you come play with me!

Hahaha. You need to take a vacation! All those cute/cuddly friends of yours talk too much and you need to get away!

Thanks for making me smile.

Bonnie - Apparently Ducky thinks that all work and no play will make Bonnie a dull girl.  You'd better take some time to play...Have fun and thanks for the chuckle.

Gee, Ducky sounds like my Scottish Terrier tonight. She wants me to put down the laptop to throw the ball. AR is addictive!

As if Ducky isn't enough, I also have a Dalmatian who gets rather insistent with the nose to the elbow when I've spent too much time on the computer.  Talk about tough to concentrate!

I love when a post makes me smile and this one did.  I don't know what a Webkinz is or maybe I do now. I guess Webkinz doesn't realize how much work real estate is to keep him in his warm nice office in the very cold winter.

Ducky is pretty darn smart for a web footed guy! I know what you mean, I thought I was off tomorrow but have to open up a listing for a showing.  It's hard to find time to play.

This post is just ducky

One has to be exposed to elementary age kids or their grandparents to know about Webkinz.  It's today's technological Cabbage Patch Kids.  Webkinz can be found in limited stores.  They are a variety of small stuffed critters (cute) with a  colorful "W" logo on their foot usually priced under $15.  Each Webkinz has a certification tag which allows its owner to log in to www.Webkinz.com and register their pet.  Once there, there are all kinds of fun things to do.  Being a real estate agent, I, of course, had to build a second room onto my house.  I'm told I can also add a yard, etc., but haven't had the time yet.  There are arcade games geared to earlier elementary age kids and some things are only allowed to be done once a day.  You must feed your pet to keep it healthy.  I'm told the younger kids can only play the games for a certain amount of time, but I signed in with my correct age and I have the ability to play for extended time.  There are variations of mahjong, tetris, checkers, solitaire, miniature golf, frogger, adding, and typing games in addition to the normal shoot the duck things.  I am totally hooked and can't wait for my daughter to give permission for my grandson to get one so we can remotely play checkers!

As to making people smile, if you heard how Ducky talks to me when I log in, you'd be rolling on the floor like Laughing Elmo!  My friend got one and when I heard it, I had to have one, too.  I'm glad I could share the fun with all of you.

Webkinz are awesome!  I laughed when other preschool moms told me they stay up playing games on their kids' webkinz... then I started.... my husband would laugh..... now he is on there...... we rack up the kinzcash - haha!

We don't have a limit, but did sign up with her age. Especially late... .? hmmmmm

Ducky gives me a big heart kiss when I come to play with him.  He also cheers me on when I exceed my former best points on the games.  It's quite amusing the different little sounds he makes.  Also, my 25 year old got the love frog for her birthday so we send each other gifts and messages via Webmail.  We really do enjoy the fun.

Emily,

Welcome.  We like to laugh, too, and Webkinz is one of the breaks I take.  If I was your mom I'm not sure I'd say congratulations on being kissed, but might worry instead.  I know, however, that a young girl's heart starts beating at such things!

I too am an adult and LOVE WEBKINZ!!! I thought I was the only one. I don't remember what age I signed up with, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't my real one. Too embarrassing! I can't remember if I've ever been bumped for playing too long, but one night I was on Tile Towers for HOURS, and then suddenly it...stopped. So maybe that's what happened.

I told myself I would only get *one* Webkinz, but of course now I have three with a fourth on the way.

I love to redecorate my rooms, buy and sell furniture, tend my garden, work at the jobs (some of them are HARD lol, or I am totally incompetent at babysitting...) and of course play the games. My "little students" are really good at some subjects and really bad at others lol. I stink at painting, apparently.

I'm hesitant to make friends with the kids, because I don't want any problems, ya know? So if any adults want to play in the tournaments let me know. I'll be happy to give you my name(s) and we can stay in touch.

Jo, a "grown-up"
